Nice quote, Jacq. I only discovered Campbell recently, while hunting around for info about Ed Ricketts (Steinbeck's 'Doc' from Cannery Row); if I remember correctly I was prompted to look for Ricketts because of some link with Robert Pirsig (Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance). A path I couldn't have foreseen, I suppose.
I read Campbell at uni while studying greek mythology, all forgotten now of course, along with Cannery Row. What was Ricketts' connection with Campbell?
I think I like any philosophy of life that validates my own lack of foresight.
